Micro soldering and welding devices of the MSG and Lötstar types generate a hydrogen-oxygen mixture based on the electrolysis of dematerialized water. This mixture, when appropriately treated, burns residue-free in a micro flame. The temperature and energy of the micro flame can be ideally adapted to the task at hand by selecting the nozzle size and the type of vaporizing fluid. On the microcomputer-controlled Lötstar 145 to Lötstar 600 devices, the gas pressure can be digitally preselected and is automatically maintained constant. The high temperature gradient of the micro flame allows for work in close proximity to temperature-sensitive components. The micro torch weighs only 110 grams. In combination with the highly flexible gas hose, fatigue-free work is possible. An industrial torch is also available for the Lötstar 600. The areas of application in industry and trade are extremely diverse. Remelting of metals and glass, welding of metals, glass, and plastics, hard and soft soldering, thermal shock separation of glass, and burning off insulation are the most important applications. The main users in the trades are goldsmiths, jewelers, dental laboratories, opticians, musical instrument makers, electrical repair workshops, model makers, etc. Industrial applications are very diverse, including manufacturers of transformers, fans, electronic controls, switching components, fuses, filter manufacturing, medical technology, glass processing, the plastics industry, and textile technology. Such devices are used for a wide variety of tasks in laboratories, testing, and research facilities. Over 40 years of experience in production and use in industry and trade form the basis for the uniquely long service life and reliability of the devices. The design and manufacture of the devices takes place in comprehensive compliance with the safety requirements of DIN 32508 and accident prevention regulations. The high level of operational safety is also ensured by the fact that gas is only generated when needed. When the burner valve is closed, gas production is automatically stopped. Storing compressed gas in reserve is not necessary. The Lötstar 600 combines the flame arrester with integrated thermal afterflow safety device, which is standard on all devices, with an additional electronic afterflow safety device. The exceptionally low energy consumption and low costs for consumables (distilled water, vaporizer fluid) result in unrivalled low operating costs compared to other processes. In addition, distilled water is more readily available than fuel gases and oxygen in compressed gas cylinders. Ongoing maintenance is limited to refilling consumables. The Lötstar 600 automatically refills the water from a storage container. The extensive range of devices is tailored to a variety of requirements. Devices with a gas output of up to 600 liters/hour are available for multi-workstation applications. The maximum gas output is limited for safety reasons. The Lötstar 80 is suitable for small, occasional jobs, such as welding thermocouples. Like most devices from other manufacturers, it is a compact device. However, the advantage of its smaller design leads to a number of disadvantages for intensive use and higher gas outputs. Therefore, devices from the Lötstar 145 onward are equipped with a special top section. This special gas flow greatly simplifies operation, maintenance, and functional monitoring, and prevents condensation from forming inside the device. This ensures greater reliability and a longer service life. The temperature-dependent "whisper cooling" system ensures virtually silent operation during short-term use. It is standard on devices with microcontroller control.

Included in the scope of delivery of all devices up to MSG 245:
1 micro burner with regulating valve and gas hose
1 piece burner nozzle set
1 burner stand
1 funnel for refilling the distilled water
1 bottle of vaporizer liquid (BLQ 1800) for the first filling (non-toxic)
1 piece electrolyte filling
