Der anschließende Sealingprozess schließt die Bedruckung irreversibel in der mit Hydroxid zugesetzten Eloxalpore ein. Diese sehr hohe Kratzfestigkeit und absolute Lösemittelbeständigkeit macht eloxierte Typen- und Bezeichnungsschilder besonders robust und langlebig, auch unter rauen Bedingungen (z.B. Seewasser oder Industrieatmosphäre).
