Carbon brushes - Industrial carbon brushes - Page 1
    local_offer
The dimensions of carbon brushes are specified according to DIN 43000 and IEC 136 in the order txaxr.
T = tangential = width in the direction of the circumference of the commutator or slip ring
a = axial = length in the direction of the axis
r = radial = height in the direction of the diameter.
The visible cable length is required for the stranded wire design. The cable diameter is determined according to DIN 43002. Cables can be insulated with silicone tubing or other materials.
Information about the cable design and the cable lug or connector is also required.

Available as graphite coal-GK, bakelite coal-BK, precious coal-EK and bronze coal-BKo.

    Hard coals
They have a bond of amorphous carbons (retorted carbon, soot, coke, etc.). This gives them a solid structure and greater hardness. They can be used on commutators with non-recessed laminar insulation. Due to their high coefficient of friction and relatively low load capacity, these grades are now used almost exclusively in small motors.
    Graphite carbons
are made from various natural graphites. They are suitable for high peripheral speeds. The grinding effect is minimal. The lamella insulation should be recessed.
    Bakelite coals
These are resin-bonded graphite carbons with a high transition voltage. The transverse resistance is many times the series resistance. This makes these grades suitable for particularly difficult commutation at moderate current densities.
    precious coals
They consist of carbon material that has been converted into electrographite at a temperature of 2,500°C. This results in a significant improvement in electrical and thermal conductivity and erosion resistance. Precious carbons have excellent commutation properties. The lamellar insulation should be recessed.
    Bronze coals
In addition to graphite and other carbon materials, they contain copper and other metals. They are characterized by significantly higher conductivity and lower contact resistance. They are used in slip rings and low-voltage machines.
    silver coal
are suitable for transmitting the lowest voltages in measuring currents, tachogenerators, contacts, etc.
