Installation Instructions: For a Perfect Shaft Repair
- Preparation: Clamp the rotor in a lathe and align it precisely. If necessary, use a steady rest, bore out the shaft center hole, and then insert a circumferential live center.
- Measure Dimensions: Carefully record the exact dimensions of the bearing surface (diameter, length) and the seal surface (if machining is required).
- Machine the Shaft: Turn down the shaft to a diameter that is exactly $0.05 \text{ mm}$ larger than the inner diameter of the EZE® repair sleeve.
- Mount the Sleeve: Heat the EZE® repair sleeve and precisely shrink-fit it onto the prepared shaft.
- Adjust Seal Surface: Machine the sleeve section over the seal surface to the exact bearing size.
- Machine Bearing Surface: Subsequently, bring the main bearing surface to the required dimension.
- Finish Seal Surface: Machine the seal surface to the original starting dimension.
- Process Edges: Carefully chamfer sharp edges to prevent damage.
- Final Finishing: Use fine emery cloth to bring the sleeve to the exact final dimension and achieve a good polish for optimal function.
- Ready for Installation: After these steps, the repaired shaft is ready for installation.
