Application:
The sensors are mainly used to measure temperature in the windings of electric motors, generators and transformers. They are available in 2-, 3- and optionally in 4-wire technology. In conjunction with an appropriate evaluation device, they protect against thermal overload or serve to transmit and document the actual temperature value. The particularly small dimensions guarantee a fast thermal response.
Function description:
The function of the PT temperature sensors is based on the temperature-dependent change in the electrical platinum metal resistance. The constants are specified in the international standards for PT temperature sensors. The characteristic is almost linear and standardized according to EN 60751, which has the advantage of standardized signal evaluation. In addition to the well-known strengths of Pt temperature sensors in terms of long-term stability, interchangeability and accuracy, they are characterized above all by their extremely small space requirements.
