With continuity testers, you can quickly and reliably check whether a component, line or device can allow current to flow or not. Our continuity testers indicate continuity optically (LED) and acoustically (loudspeaker). The acoustic signaling is the most important thing. The audible frequency response is inversely proportional to the resistance being tested. The greater the resistance, the lower the audible tone.
Even if the connection only lasts for a fraction of a second, as is often the case with broken lines with loose contacts, this is signaled directly. Changing contact resistances on switches and connectors can be displayed acoustically without observing a pointer or a sluggish digital display.
Special properties of the CONTITEST® 4000-501:
This simple continuity tester with switchable volume is used wherever there are no specific requirements for the resistance to be tested. The robust plastic housing and the highly flexible test leads with quality test probes make this test device a durable tool that can withstand daily use.
With all CONTITEST® continuity testers it is possible to test passive and active electronic components such as capacitors, diodes, coils, transformers, rectifiers, transistors or entire assemblies. A frequently practiced test method is the comparative test. In this process, components that are knowingly intact and components that are suspected to be defective are alternately checked. In this way, errors such as interruptions, connections, mix-ups or burnt-out traces on printed circuit boards can often be detected.
